LEO FENDER: LIFE AND LEGACY

For the past decade the Fullerton Museum Center’s LEO FENDER GALLERY has provided a hometown venue for celebrating the life and works of the city’s most famous and influential son. Clarence Leo Fender was an unassuming man who couldn’t play guitar, yet his creations inspired generations of musicians, and changed the sound of popular music. While his instruments soared, Fender spent his life in Fullerton, looking for ways to make his great creations even better.

The life and work of Fullerton’s favorite son will be celebrated in a new exhibit at the Fullerton Museum Center. Leo Fender: Life and Legacy opens November 12, 2016 in celebration of the 10th anniversary of the Museum’s Leo Fender Gallery.

Music legend Leo Fender (1909 – 1991) is recognized worldwide as the inventive genius who perfected the electric guitar. His groundbreaking Telecaster and Stratocaster electric guitars as well as the revolutionary Precision Bass were all invented in Fullerton, California, a town Fender loved.
