US Bank Tower, formerly Library Tower and First Interstate Bank World Center, is a 1,018-foot (310 m) skyscraper at 633 West Fifth Street in downtown Los Angeles, California. It is the tallest building in California, the thirteenth tallest in the United States, the tallest west of the Mississippi River, and the 65th tallest building in the world. Because local building codes required all high-rise buildings to have a helipad, it was known as the tallest building in the world with a roof-top heliport from its completion in 1989 to 2004 when Taipei 101 opened. It is also the second tallest building in a major active seismic region; its structure was designed to resist an earthquake of 8.3 on the Richter scale. It consists of 73 stories above ground and two parking levels below ground. Construction began in 1987 with completion in 1989. The building was designed by Henry N. Cobb of the architectural firm Pei Cobb Freed & Partners and cost $350 million to build. It is one of the most recognizable buildings in Los Angeles, often used in establishing shots for the city in films and television programs.

U.S. 뱅크 타워(영어: U.S. Bank Tower)는 미국 캘리포니아 주 로스앤젤레스에 위치한 초고층 빌딩이다. 높이 310.3m로, 북아메리카 대륙의 서쪽에서 가장 높고, 2008년 시점에서 미국에서 9번째로 높다.

 

LA다운타운 퍼싱스퀘어에 등장한 예술 작품 '리퀴드 샤드(Liquid Shard)'가 시민들에게 큰 호응을 얻고 있다. 표 갤러리 LA(대표 하이디 장)가 비영리 예술진흥 재단인 나우 아트 LA와 손잡고 선보인 리퀴드 샤드는 액체 조각이라는 뜻으로 최고 높이 115피트, 너비 1만5000스퀘어 피트 규모의 설치미술품이다. 홀로그래픽 폴리에스테르 필름을 격자 세공한 은빛 필림이 바람의 방향에 따라 하늘거리며 섬세한 소리를 내 신비로운 분위기를 선사한다. '리퀴드 샤드'는 오는 11일까지 퍼싱스퀘어에 전시된다. 김상진 기자
